This past week began with a wonderful trip to New Jersey last weekend to spend time with my girlfriend and her family. We had a nice and relaxing time. This week I continued with my research into the TANF program. I am assissting with a project aimed at eliminating discrimination agianst people with disabilites from receiving TANF benefits. This project is challenging because while it is important to end discrimination it is also essential that you ensure that people with disabilities enter the workforce and avoid dependence in TANF benefits. There are many factors, many questions to answer and much to learn..Before a solution can be reached.
OnFriday I attended a conference ran by Presidents Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilites . The focus of this conference was to discuss the comparison of a report for the president summarizing key national issues for people with intellectual disabilities. Even though there are considerable efforts to raise this segment of the population. There are millions of people yet to be brought "out of the shadow" Families should make every effort to ensure the inclusion of members with disabilities in society Posted by Zach Holler
