Greetings from DC!
I went to the Mental Health America (MHA) Conference in DC last Saturday 6/11. I was also able to visit with my aunt, uncle, and four small cousins from Indianapolis the same day. Then I attended the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (USPRA) Conference in Boston.
I arrived Sunday 6/12 to Boston around noon and for me the conference lasted until Thursday 6/16 at 5 pm.
I returned to my internship at Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) on Friday. I started a new project working with Katharine, a coworker in my office. We both had done Peace Corps. Katharine in Botswana and me in Paraguay. After we had worked on the project awhile, we decided to each lunch outside on the Mall and go to the farmer’s market. It was a nice change of pace from eating at the desk!
This weekend I am doing a lot of catching up….I have to study for my Certified Rehabilitation Counselor exam that I am taking in Washington DC on July 9th. My brother Andy is coming to visit the July 4th weekend! I am also hanging out with fellow interns and getting to know them better. More later….Margie
